Textpatterning MTB

I have started the design for Textpattern of the MTB site so that is cool (to me at least). Will let you know when I put it up.

Trip to Twizel

Just back from Twizel (work trip). Trip went well although there were a number of car changes at either end, so was wondering if I was going to be stuck there. Not that it is a bad place to be stuck – very beautiful country in fact. But it is good to be home again.

Let there be archives

I have worked out the archive plug in and now we have access to the archives. Are they worth reading? You just read that question so they must be! Or not.

Just got to work out the Photo’s section now.

Man that is a nice bike

Duncan has brought a new mountain bike – the trick? I brought it here in Chch for him since it was on sale here and not up north. So I have a damn nice Kona Dawg Primo here just begging to be ridden. But I shall not ride it before Dunc does as this is one sweat full suspension bike and he should have the pleasure of the first ride. I am not too jealous as I have a brilliant cross country hard tail bike of my one. And this got very muddy on this mornings ride which was heaps of fun. There was no way I could have taken Dunc’s bike on this ride and him not knowing it had been ridden.

We’ve just been over to Cass Bay in Littleton making the most of the primo weather here today. Brook loved the two playgrounds we visited and the two secluded beaches on the walk in between them. Time to kick back and relax before another week starts. And this week I am back to “being me” not “acting team leader” so that is cool. Whilst there was not a lot of managing to do, it was always on your mind that you were the team leader and to be there if needed. It did mean I was involved in a couple of system incidents that I probably would not have been otherwise so that was fun.

A busy week this one coming – I am in Twizel for 2 very long days and then Joss’s sister and her family are here for the weekend. That will make a total of 4 kids running around like mad men.

That smarts

Another weekend over and we are halfway through the next week. We had a relaxed weekend in general pottering around on Saturday. On Sunday I had my usual bike ride and managed to slam into the headset just below my ribs. Was very sore that evening (more so than at the time) and it is only now that the bruise is starting to show. Brook got himself tangled up in cutting grass and came out worst off. And today Joss tried to chop off a finger whilst digging out a flax plant to transplant it elsewhere. So we’ve been a little in the wars the last few days.

Duncan has just brought himself a new flash bike which he is very pleased about – only trouble is he did it via phone from Wellington to Christchurch so has to wait until he comes down to pick it up. So looks like I’ll be riding a bike that is twice as expensive as mine for the month!

Easter Break

It is hard to believe Easter is already over even accounting for it being early this year. This year seems to shooting by – and that too is accounting for the fact we get older each year!

Easter with a child rocks! There is no excuse for not having a heap of chocolate in the house. The trick is to get them to share, but Brook is very good at that, especially if he knows it is either share or get nothing :)

This Easter Joss went to Wellington to stay with Justine for a well deserved break from Brook and I. She had a great time with the crew (Alison joined them too) and she got to catch up with Chilali too. The usual Wellington activities were done – dining out, drinking wine, lots of time shopping, and a trip to Te Papa.

By contrast I had Duncan come to stay to entertain Brook and I. So we did usual lads activities – takeaways, drinking beer, looking at bike shops, and some DIY. Actually there is not too much contrast between both groups.

Anyway, hope you all had a good time, and we’ll catch you another day.

New Webhost

Hi, we have just signed up at www.kiwiwebhost.co.nz to host our website. Initially this is a simple copy and tweak of our old site, but eventually I will be database driving all our sites (the sub-domains at www.flexedesign.com).

I have had to disable our image gallery initially since joss now has her own sub-domain and we have been using jalbum to date and it was the simplest initially.
